Adopted in the UK

[Current Mood |busybusy]

I created this community because all the other adoption communities I could find on LJ were very much American based, and as such, have little relevance over here when discussing matters such as legal issues.

Please take the time to read the community rules and guidelines before posting. Introductory posts are entirely welcome, and just as soon as I haven't got to drag myself off to bed, I'll have a stab at writing my own.

Can I join the community?

I've never spoken to other adoptees before, and LJ seems like a good way of doing it.
I was born in 1981 in Blackpool, UK, and adopted aged 6 months.

Of course you can join the community, that's what it's here for. :)

I was born 1957, fostered with my brother 1961, adopted 1964 by the couple that fostered us. There was a sister in the middle of my brother and I, she stayed with our birth mother. L x

Hi Rosiland here.

I was trans-racially adopted at 2 months old.

Anybody experienced rejection from an adoptive parent almost from the word go and then had to live in an environment where it was clear you weren't welcome for the next 18 years?
